2011 ·
A student was selected to participate in a
national high school mathematics competition (ARML) at Pennsylvania State
University as a member of the Montgomery County junior team (8th
place in division B). ·
Yang Academy held the
school competition of a national middle school math program (MATHCOUNTS); the
Yang Academy winner received a rank of 6 in the Potomac chapter competition
and a rank of 11 in the Maryland state competition. ·
A student received an Honor Roll of Distinction
pin for scoring in the top 1% on the American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10,
high school level). ·
A student received a
Certificate of Distinction for superior performance on the American
Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10, high school level). ·
A student received a
Certificate of Participation for participating in the American Invitational
Mathematics Examination (AIME, high school level). ·
A student received a
Certificate of Achievement for being in grade 8 or below and scoring 90 or
above (out of 150) on the American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10, high
school level). ·
A student received a gold medal and two
plaques (one for the student and one for the school) in the National French
Contest and a national rank of 1. Fall
2010 ·
A student received an Honor Roll of
Distinction Certificate for scoring in the top 1% on the American Mathematics
Contest 8 (AMC 8, middle school level). ·
A student received a 19th place
pin in the Maryland Middle School Mathematics Competition
(Mathalon). ·
Yang Academy received the second highest
score on the team test in the Maryland Middle School Mathematics
Competition (Mathalon). ·
A student was selected to participate in
Part II of the Maryland High School Mathematics Competition. Spring
2010 ·
Yang Academy held the
school competition of a national middle school math program (MATHCOUNTS); the
Yang Academy winner participated in the Potomac chapter competition, received
a rank of 15, finished among the top 8 in the countdown round, and
participated in the Maryland state competition. ·
A student was selected to participate in a
national high school mathematics competition (ARML) at Pennsylvania State
University as a member of the Montgomery County junior team. ·
A student received a silver medal in the
National French Contest and a rank of 1 in the Maryland chapter of the
Contest. Fall
2009 ·
A student received an 18th place
pin in the Maryland Middle School Mathematics Competition
(Mathalon). ·
A student received first prize as an advanced
division team member in Jeopardy at the Montgomery County Francophone
Festival (Rockville, Maryland). Spring
2009 ·
A student received a silver medal in the
National French Contest. Spring
2008 ·
A student was selected to participate in a
national high school mathematics competition (ARML) at Pennsylvania State
University as a member of the Montgomery County junior team. Spring

A student began to play violin in the Landon
Symphonette (Bethesda, Maryland). Fall

A student received an Honors trophy in the
Strings Judged Recital (Rockville, Maryland) of the Montgomery County Music
Teachers Association. ·
